Fla. Bill Aims To Boost Employer Noncompete Power
Florida is making headlines for its bold move in the opposite direction of the national trend on non-competes. Ahead of its enactment, Co-Managing Partner Jason Goldman spoke with Law360 about how the CHOICE Act could reshape the state’s business climate by making it one of the most employer-friendly non-compete frameworks in the country. The bill dramatically shifts the burden onto employees and has wide implications for hiring, enforcement, and remote work policies across the state.
“Florida has done a good job of carving itself a little niche in this space,” said Jason. “I think that’s the point of this legislation, to make itself an outlier and draw attention to its business friendly environment to try to woo businesses here.”
