How ChatGPT ends up in children’s toys
In a recent feature by Mashable, Co-Managing Partner Aaron Davis shared his legal perspective on the growing questions surrounding AI liability in children’s toys. Aaron highlighted the unique risks posed by AI-powered products like the Kumma bear. While he doesn’t believe OpenAI should be responsible for every incident involving ChatGPT, he emphasized that extra caution is essential given these toys’ ability to earn the trust of vulnerable users. He also raised critical legal questions about transparency, liability, and enforceability of key contractual clauses when AI products interact with children.
“I think the conflicting policies underlie the platform’s intention to insulate itself from liability while maintaining the utility of the product,” Aaron said.
