New Rule, New Risks: Attorney Warns of Pitfalls Amid Florida Healthcare Changes
The Daily Business Review featured Davis Goldman Co-Managing Partner Jason Goldman for his insights on the legal and operational challenges tied to Florida’s expansion of mental healthcare services through urgent care centers.
In the article, Jason explains that while these care models can improve access to treatment, they also introduce meaningful liability risks for providers navigating complex and at times subjective screening decisions.
Jason emphasizes that healthcare providers can reduce risk by implementing clear protocols, relying on standardized diagnostic tools, and maintaining thorough documentation.
“We will see some friction here as this becomes a more common feature of our healthcare landscape. I do think that it’s still a good thing, I think it should happen,” Jason said. “I think it needs to happen with the proper protections, protocols and procedures in place.”
